I see a lot of reports of this issue when searching the Interwebs but the solutions either don’t work or don’t seem to apply. Been working fine for 6 months and only stopped after the Jan 2nd Windows updates applied themselves.

I don’t know how to delete a name from autocomplete cache but not sure it matters. The FB is unavailable for every single user and every single room I select, not just one user. Office updates were installed on Jan 2nd because I saw them in the Control Panel and uninstalled them from there. Looking again today I see upwards up 30 Office security updates applied. That seems wrong. I’ve tried renaming and rebuilding my.

Didn’t help. Hi Diane. No it did not work after uninstalling the Jan 2nd updates. It has never worked since then. I’ll try deleting a name from autocomplete but I don’t understand how that would help since I’m not able to see FB for any of our 55, employees.

Doesn’t seem specific to one name. I will give it a go though. One more thing to note. I’ve tried everything listed in this article, which sounds like exactly what I’m experiencing. Not sure if it was a quick repair. Went to Outlook settings, selected my email, and clicked Repair which is now disabled for reasons unknown. I don’t know how I would set up a profile or new Windows account on another computer because I’m assuming there are things on this company-provided and configured laptop that I won’t have on another computer.

After three weeks and countless hours of trying every conceivable known and unknown resolution, I was finally connected to an internal tech resource who fixed the problem in under 5 minutes.

Somewhere deep in the registry was a key that needed to be deleted. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Outlook Outlook. Repairing Outlook didn’t work. I’m a little shackled by only being a user and not an admin, but surely there is a known fix for this?

They want to rebuild my laptop because they can’t figure it out! Not cool. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. In reply to LisaHamilton1’s post on January 11, Yours is the first complaint following the recent update. That could mean it’s not the update that caused it, or no one else has reported it.

If you delete the person’s name from the autocomplete cache and select it from the GAL, does FB work? Were any Outlook updates installed on Jan 2?

If you use a subscription or retail version, Office updates aren’t added to the update list in Control panel – if so, the answer is ‘i don’t know’. Hi and thanks for the reply!

Did it work after you uninstalled the updates yesterday? To delete a name from autocomplete, begin typing it and when it comes up in the list of autocomplete names, select it using the arrow keys and press Delete.

I saw the article earlier – the symptoms are the same but the KBs in question should have been installed years ago. Your coworkers would get the same updates but are unaffected. Do you know if the repair attempt was a quick repair? Have you tried setting your profile up on another computer or in a new windows user account? Today’s update. I installed Outlook to see if that would change anything and it didn’t. So the mystery continues. In reply to LisaHamilton1’s post on January 19, Hope this helps someone else avoid the headaches this has caused me.
