UPLIFTING PLAYLISTS FOR THE SOUL

Since we’re quarantined, how about some new music?

I have five playlists that I typically switch back and forth from depending on my mood. There’s definitely repeats of songs and artists on every playlist because I’m one of those people who, when they love a song, play it over and over until they can’t stand it anymore. Sorry in advance for all the Mac Miller (or am I?).

Anyway, first up is my playlist called happiness is a butterfly. Think rainy days, car rides, songs that make you feel something. This playlist has been on repeat since I’ve self-isolated myself at home. There’s a little bit of everything on this playlist — old, new, hip hop, alternative, indie, r&b, rap, acoustic.

This playlist called forever favs is mostly rap and hip hop, but these are the songs I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of. Lots of Mac Miller, Frank Ocean, Tame Impala, Travis Scott. My current and all-time favourites:

I made catchin vibesss for a friend who was going on a road trip and wanted new music to accompany him through the mountains. This playlist quickly became the party playlist among my group of friends. This is a good vibe track list to listen to while you’re working out, cleaning your house, or just plain vibin’ alone in your room. (I do this a lot.)

This one’s for the girls and gays, my glam playlist that I love to put on while I’m doing my make up. It’s especially fun to listen to while you’re with your girls getting ready to go out. Lots of Ariana, Miley, Bieber, and some Britney, but it’s mostly new pop music.

My newest playlist, since I have nothing better to do, is still a work in progress, but this one is called roll one — you already know what it’s for. Featuring Bob Marley, OutKast, Mac Miller, Jhen√© Aiko.

And lastly, this playlist called chillin w you is one I love to play at night when I’m journaling, stretching, or laying in bed. This playlist is perfect for cozy nights in. Dreamy vocals and chill ass beats. This is definitely a baby making music kind of playlist, featuring Daniel Caesar, 6lack, Brent Faiyaz, and more.

I hope everyone is enjoying their new-found down time — I’ve been diving deep into the depths of Spotify over the last few days and reconnecting with my love for music, which is something I’ve been neglecting over the last few months.

I always keep these playlists updated — check back or follow me on Spotify for more music soon.
