Kid Cudi wants to show us his fantasy life, and I’m hoping the intro will include that famous Cudi hum that I live for.
Named the “first of its kind” in a press release, the highly-anticipated album Entergalactic will have a Netflix series to accompany it.
Cudi writes, stars, and executive produces the upcoming series, alongside Black-ish creator Kenya Barris.
The adult animated series is about a young man as he embarks on his journey to find love. Cudi took to Twitter to address what Entergalactic means to him, hinting it’s about his “fantasy” life.
Fans were quick to show support on Twitter. Cudi is an advocate for speaking up about mental health and has been open about his struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts. In an interview for Billboard last summer, he discussed how he keeps his head right:
I’m just creating a lot, with more love in my heart for what I’m doing and for myself. Living a healthy life, keeping my family around and staying on a mission, which is making music that means something. I’m focusing on my art again and throwing myself back into it and wanting to write something with more of a positive outlook on things, because I’ve written the dark so well for so long.
While we have to wait until next year for the album and show, knowing it’s on its way is good enough to hold Cudder fans over, who were quick to point out the series could be a Part 2 of his song “Enter Galactic (Love Connection Part 1)”, which was released while he was in a healthier state of mind.
Either way, we are here for Kid Cudi’s growth and cannot wait for the presumably trippy visuals and music from The Man on the Moon. Follow him on Twitter for more updates on Entergalactic.
